MixAdventures

Standing as one of my largest undertakings, MixAdventures was a 6 person project taken as part of the final year of the bachelors of games and interactive environments degree. In conjunction with Activate Studio's, We made an immersive VR alchemy experience that let you take control of a mystifying alchemist in their enchanting workshop. The game is made to introduce people to VR for the first time and show them the power of the technology. A large portion of the game will be made by the team and I however, the final half of the game will be given back to the studio to complete. After presenting the game at QUT's student showcase and receiving praise for its looks and mechanics, I was extremely happy with this first attempt at VR development and look forward to trying new projects in the VR world.

My Role as lead programmer

The creation of MixAdventures took the skills and knowledge of of all the various aspects of game creation, all the way from animation and art to the technical nitty gritty of back-end software development of systems. As part of the Overscoped team that worked on the game, it was my job as lead programmer to overlook much of the coding involved in the game. This meant I was responsible for integrating systems between each other system and making sure they worked efficiently. Along side my coding, I was involved in make many of the particle effects scene in game such as the player projectiles. The project taught me tons of new information about particle systems that I plan of making full use of in the future.
